Ladies, put on your best hat and gentlemen don those bowties for the 2015 CVMC Hospital Foundation’s Night at the Kentucky Derby! Taking place on May 16 – just two weeks after the actual Kentucky Derby — the event will feature interactive horse races, silent and live auction, and an elegant southern dinner…all for a great cause. Proceeds from this event will help the hospital expand access to healthcare specialists for patients in the Carson Valley through telemedicine.
Marilyn Presti, a Carson Valley resident and philanthropist, will be honored with the 2015 Healthcare Legacy Award at the event. Marilyn started the CVMC Hospital Foundation and served as the Executive Director from 2008-2013. Her work in those five years changed the conversation about healthcare in the Carson Valley to one of collaboration to bring quality healthcare service to the patients of the Carson Valley. During her time with the Foundation she helped raise over $400,000, headed the campaign to bring digital mammography to CVMC, raised funds to make improvements to the surgery and rehab departments at CVMC, and brought patient-centered additions to the hospital including the Med Calm audio system and Whisper Glide swing. Anyone who enters the doors at CVMC is impacted by the positive changes she made for the hospital.

A Night at the Kentucky Derby is on May 16, 2015 starting at 5:00pm in the Grand Dining Room at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center. Individual tickets start at $125, sponsorship and table packages available. Also, local organizations, individuals and businesses can own and name their own horse in the horse races for just $100.
