GARDNERVILLE, Nev. —  Mostly sunny skies mixed with isolated thunderstorms after 1 p.m. are in the forecast today. Look for a high of 94 degrees.

Temperatures will hang around in the low- to mid-9os throughout the weekend before ramping up around 97 degrees this weekend.

The Valley should see some smoke and haze tailing over from fires near Yosemite.

Toddler storytime for children 18 months to 3 years of age will be this morning at 10:30 a.m.  Children will participate in music and felt-board stories.  Preschool storytime for children ages 3 to 5 years will be at 11:15 a.m.  Music and crafts will be included. The MindenFest Farmers Market runs tonight on Esmeralda Avenue from 4 to 8 p.m.

Douglas girls soccer hosts McQueen this afternoon at 3:30 p.m., Douglas volleyball hosts McQueen at 6 p.m. and Douglas girls tennis will take on North Valleys at Lampe Park at 3 p.m. Douglas boys tennis plays at North Valleys this afternoon.
