Good Morning, Carson Valley: Aug. 7

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Temperatures will hang around 86 degrees today with a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms. The same forecast will stick around through Tuesday and Wednesday at least before temperatures rebound into the mid-90s heading into the weekend.

Douglas High School’s football program officially opens practice today. The Tigers’ varsity season opens Aug. 26 in Pocatello, Idaho against Rigby High School. The team’s home opener will be Sept. 8 against Spanish Springs.

Practice officially opens Aug. 14, which incidentally is also the first day of school. for the remainder of sports.

We’ll be launching the final round of our 2017 search for Carson Valley Signature Dessert this afternoon, so keep an eye out for that.
