Good Morning, Carson Valley: Aug. 1

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory effective from 11 a.m. today through 11 p.m. Thursday.

Temperatures will top out in the 100- to 11o-degree range around Northern Nevada through the next few days with overnight lows in the 60s.

The hottest day of the set will be Wednesday. Forecasts predict 104 degrees Wednesday in Gardnerville. Today we’re in for a high of 101 degrees with continued haze coming over from fires in California and a low of 61 degrees tonight.

The Douglas County Public Library hosts toddler storytime this morning for children 18 months to 3 years at 10:30 a.m.  Children will participate in music and felt-board stories.  Preschool storytime for children ages 3 to 5 years will be  at 11:15 a.m.  Music and crafts will be included. The Minden Library is located at 1625 Library Lane.

The Gardnerville Town Board meets at 4:30 p.m. this evening. Their agenda can be found here.

And the MindenFest Farmers Market on Esmeralda Avenue in Minden  runs this evening from 4 to 8 p.m.
