GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — There’s no end to the heat wave in the immediate future with the National Weather Service showing highs in the upper 90s through the next seven days.

Look for 96 degrees today with light afternoon winds. Thunderstorms are a possibility on Friday and, for the moment, there is a projection of 99 degrees for Saturday.

There will be a Chautauqua presentation at Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park this evening, featuring Doug Watson as Will Rogers beginning at 6:30 p.m. More on that here.

The Sierra Chef Farm to Fork Farmers Market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lampe Park today and the Douglas County Public Library will provide storytime at Lampe Park at 10 a.m.

As part of the library’s summer reading program, the Douglas County Public Library will host a wildlife show at 6 p.m. at the C.V.I.C. Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave. in Minden. Children of all ages will meet live animals presented by Conservation Ambassadors, Inc.  The wildlife show is free, and seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.  Grab a seat early.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
