Good Morning, Carson Valley: July 5

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — The Nevada Highway Patrol reopened Kingsbury Grade shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday following a fatal head-on collision that occurred about two miles up the grade Tuesday evening.

Two people were killed and two more transported via helicopter for medical care, according to NHP reports. We’ll be following up on this crash today. You can read more on this story here.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Fire Warning effective from 1 p.m. this afternoon to 5 a.m. Thursday. Thunderstorms with minimal precipitation and strong outflow winds are anticipated throughout the area.

Look for a high of 92 today. We should reach into the high 90s later this week.

The Sierra Chef Farm to Fork Farmers Market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Lampe Park.

The Douglas County Public Library will provide storytime at Lampe Park at 10 a.m.

The Minden Town Board meets at the CVIC Hall tonight at 5:30 p.m., and the Town of Genoa Advisory Board meets at 6:30 p.m., at the Genoa Town Meeting Room, 2289 Main Street in Genoa.
