Pedestrian Killed In Apparent Hit-And-Run At Fremont & Johnson Lane

On Saturday, July 1, 2017 at approximately 5:00 am, Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were
dispatched to the area of Fremont Street and Johnson Lane (Minden) for a report of an injured pedestrian in the roadway.

Upon arrival to the scene, Deputies located a male subject in the roadway with significant physical trauma.
Preliminary investigation indicates that he was struck by a vehicle. He succumbed to the injuries sustained from being struck.

This is a joint investigation being conducted by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Nevada Highway Patrol.

At this time, the identification of the victim is unknown. The male appears to be of Hispanic or Filipino decent, approximate age between late teens and early twenties.

Investigator Leland Love of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Trooper Doug Hildebrand of the Nevada Highway Patrol’s Multi-disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) are investigating this crash.
