GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Look for clear skies with a high of 86 degrees today, accompanied by 5-15 mph winds.

One person died in a car crash on Highway 50 at Cave Rock Monday afternoon, according to Nevada Highway Patrol reports. Traffic was slowed for several hours as crews tended to the scene. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more details today.

A series of earthquakes (topping out around 3.1 magnitude) shook Independence Lake near Truckee this morning. Small earthquakes continued to register in the Double Springs Flat and Topaz Lake areas on Monday, though none larger than 1.6.

The Douglas County Public Library hosts Toddler Storytime at the Minden branch of the library today at 10:30 a.m. Felt board stories, songs and musical instruments are included. For children ages three and younger.

The library also hosts a Lego Build on Tuesdays through July 25. Participants listen to a story and recreate it using Lego bricks from 3 to 4 p.m. Lego bricks and building materials will be provided by the library. Lego Build Tuesdays are for children ages four and up.

And the MindenFest Farmers Market on Esmeralda Avenue in Minden  runs every Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. through Sept. 27. There is live music every week, along with 15-20 vendors.
