GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — The East Fork Fire Protection District sent a crew to assist with suppression efforts on the Garson Fire west of Reno on Sunday.

As of last report last night, the fire had burned more than 125 acres.

Responding from East Fork were Captain Anderson, Engineer Hara, Firefighter/Paramedic Chrzanowski and Battalion Chief Valenzuela.

We’re heading into a considerably warmer week, with highs around 95 degrees today through Thursday and 30 percent chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.

The East Fork of the Carson River through Gardnerville reached within 8 inches of flood stage overnight before easing back off.

Similar rises overnight and falls heading into each day are expected through the week, though the National Weather Service isn’t currently projecting the river to reach flood stage at any of the measurement gauges.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
