GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — The Douglas County School District will be seeking a new school board member following the resignation of Neil Freitas Tuesday evening. Freitas is moving and will no longer live in his representative district. The District will be advertising and beginning the process to fill the position in the near future.

Look for clear skies with a high of 77 degrees and winds gusting up to 20 mph today.

The Sierra Chef Farm to Fork Farmers Market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Lampe Park. The Douglas County Public Library will provide storytime at Lampe Park at 10 a.m.

A presentation on managing storm water runoff will be at 6-8 p.m., tonight at the Cooperative Extension conference room, 1325 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville. The presentation will cover designing and installing drainage management features to allow storm water runoff to soak into the soil, reduce erosion and replenish groundwater.  Geologist Matt McMackin and UNCE Water Resource Specialist John Cobourn present.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a wonderful day!
