Good Morning, Carson Valley: June 12

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — There is a fresh coating of snow on the mountains as we begin the second full week of June.

It’s a chilly 45 degrees out as of 8 a.m. this morning with a high of 58 degrees and scattered showers in the forecast today. Winds should stick around in the 15 mph range, gusting at times to 30 mph.

We’re expected to return to your regularly scheduled summer starting Tuesday with clear skies and a high near 72. We should finish out the week in the mid-80s.

Carson Valley Days was this past weekend — we have a photo gallery of scenes throughout the weekend here.

We’ll be launching the nomination round of our annual search for Carson Valley’s Signature Salad this afternoon and rounding up a busy weekend throughout the morning, so keep an eye out for updates.

That’s a full lid for now. Take care out there and have a great day.
