GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — We’re partnering with the Carson Valley Visitors Authority for a new round of the #WhyCV photo storytelling contest starting today. Look for further details on that later this morning.

Gardnerville Elementary School will host a blood drive today from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. United Blood Services will have their Blood Mobile in the parking lot adjacent to the Multi-Purpose Room. To schedule an appointment, go to, enter code “Gardnerville” or, call United Blood Services at (800)696-4484 or call Mary Lahlum at (775)782-5117 ext. 2507.

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners meets today at 1 p.m. at the Douglas County Historic Courthouse, 1616 8th Street in Minden. You can view their agenda here.

The final round of our annual search for Carson Valley’s Signature Pasta dish is open through Friday evening. You can vote here.

Look for a high of 75 degrees this afternoon with clear skies and winds gradually increasing to gusts of 20 mph.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
