Hugh Edward Stockton

June 15, 1938 – April 10, 2017

Hugh Stockton

Our Family, Friends, Church and Community lost a great, kind, caring, and loving husband, father and Patriarch.

Hugh was the father of three children and leaves 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

He served for many years as a Scout Leader, Bishop, Patriarch, and Temple worker for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and will be greatly missed.  Free of the limitations of Parkinson’s disease, we are certain that he is again hard at work with his Father in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Janet Jenkins (Mike); and sons, Bryan (Buffie) and Roger (Colleen).  A memorial service will be held at the LDS Church, 1095 Spruce St, Minden, Nevada on April 22, 2017 starting at 11:00am. Interment will be on April 13, at Eastside Memorial Park at 3 p.m.

Obituaries are an important way to celebrate the lives of loved ones within the community. They help carry on, if even in a small way, the legacy of the friends, family and neighbors that have helped weave this community into the wonderful place it is. At the Carson Valley Times, we run obituaries free of charge. To celebrate your loved one, please e-mail obituary information to Feel free to include a picture. If you’re at a loss for what to write, start simply with who the person was, and what they meant to you. Include a birth date and date of death, how they came to reside in Carson Valley and any other details you feel are important. If there are planned memorial services, make sure to include a date, time and address.
