MINDEN, Nev. — The Douglas High baseball team cruised to a doubleheader sweep of Hug Saturday at Tiger Field on the Douglas High School campus.
Douglas won the first game 11-0 and picked up a 13-6 win in the second.
Zach Davies went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Spencer Trivitt was 1-for-2 with two RBIs, Kindel Isham was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Kaleb Foster clubbed a double, Cale Kynett, Nick Wilkinson, Tomas Leitenbauer each singled and Trevor Tierney drove in a run.
Ben Penwell struck out nine, walked one and allowed just one hit in picking up the win.
In Game 2, Hunter Simpson claimed the win on the mound, striking out six and walking one. Tanner Valenzuela struck out four in two-plus innings of scoreless relief.
At the plate, Nick Wilkinson doubled and Isaiah Schat tripled. Wilkinson was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Trivitt drove in four runs, Blake Murray drove in one, Jayden Foster drove in one and Cale Kynett went 2-for-4.
