Baseball: Douglas Falls to McQueen (PHOTOS)

MINDEN, Nev. — The Douglas High baseball team outhit McQueen Thursday afternoon, but the Lancers won the battle in the run column, walking away with a 5-1 win at Tiger Field.

McQueen plated three runs in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie and claim the lead for good.

Douglas’ Isaiah Schat struck out five in six innings of work on the mound.

Kaleb Foster went 3-for-4, Cale Kynett and Haydn Brown each collected two hits and Zach Davies, Logan Fencl and Tomas Leitenbauer each had one hit. Kynett drove in Douglas’ lone run.

Douglas hosts Hug in a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
