Baseball: Douglas Beats McQueen 4-1

RENO, Nev. — The Douglas High baseball team scored in the second and third innings Tuesday afternoon, added an insurance run in the fifth and pulled away with a 4-1 win over McQueen.

Freshman Blake Murray struck out five over 5 1/3 innings of work, scattering four hits and walking three to pick up the win. Tanner Valenzuela grabbed the save, striking out three and walking one.

Kaleb Foster went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a pair of runs scored, Haydn Brown went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs, Zach Davies went 2-for-4 and Kindel Isham drove in a run.

Douglas next hosts McQueen Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
