MINDEN, Nev. — A day after riding a big fifth inning to a win over Reed, Douglas High’s baseball squad saw the Raiders return the favor.
Reed ran up a five-run fifth to go-ahead for good Saturday, pushing ahead to a 10-7 win in Minden.
Douglas got within a run of tying the game at eight in the sixth inning, putting the potential tying and go-ahead runs on base before stranding them there.
The Raiders added two insurance runs in the seventh and retired the Tigers in order in the bottom of the seventh to clinch the win.
Cale Kynett went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, Kaleb Foster went 2-for-2 while driving in three runs, Haydn Brown had one RBI and Nick Wilkinson doubled and drove in a run. Haden Keller went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Kindel Isham, Spencer Trivitt and Zach Davies each recorded a hit.
