MINDEN, Nev. — The Douglas High School baseball team picked up an early lead Tuesday afternoon against Reno, but it didn’t hold long as the Huskies piled up a nine-run second inning and rode that to a 15-8 win in Minden.
With Reno leading 10-1 in the third, Douglas put together a four-run frame, and then crossed one run in both the fourth and fifth innings. Reno’s offense, as well as Douglas’ shaky defense (seven errors on the afternoon) proved to be too much to overcome.
Cale Kynett drove in a pair of runs and collected two hits, Kindel Isham had three hits, Haden Keller picked up two hits and Haydn Brown, Jayden Foster each had a hit. Keller and Kynett each had doubles in the loss.
Reno’s Conor Allard went 5-for-6 at the plate with three RBIs and Brock Tsukmoto and Cooper Krug each had three hits.
