GARDNERVILLE, Nev., March 27, 2015 – We hear the cat stuck atop a power pole on Fuller Avenue for two-plus days was rescued yesterday evening.

The Douglas High School softball team claimed a commanding win over Wooster in Reno and the Douglas baseball team had a seventh-inning rally fall short in a 4-2 loss at home to Spanish Springs.

Douglas High School will play host to the GE Build Competition today at 11:30 a.m. Students have been working with GE Engineers to build vehicles for an engineering competition. We’ll be out there for that.

The Carson Valley Job Opportunity Fair is also today, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

Douglas diving hosts a meet at 2 p.m. at the Carson Valley Swim Center, and Douglas swimming hosts McQueen and Spanish Springs at 4:15 p.m., also at the Carson Valley Swim Center.

It’s supposed to be another sunny day in the Valley, with temperatures reaching nearly 80 degrees. We should see some gusty winds this afternoon, though, topping 25 mph.

That’s a full lid for now. Take care out there and have a great day.
