GARDNERVILLE, Nev., March 18, 2015 – Dave Price of The Record-Courier wrote a great story on Bill Coverley, who passed away over the weekend, in today’s paper. You can read it here.

A service for Coverley has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 891 Mahogany Drive.

Carson Valley Middle School is the host for tonight’s Middle School Parent Expo from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m. A wide variety of topics will be covered, including the upcoming transition of ninth grade to the high school and sixth grade to the middle school. The event is fee and open to parents of current middle-schoolers and middle-schoolers to be.

We’re looking at a slight chance of Thunderstorms today (20 percent) and a high of 64 degrees outside. Highs are expected to climb to 70 Thursday and Friday.

The Douglas baseball team had already seen Galena pitcher Nate Barry once this season. After Tuesday, they’ll be just fine if they don’t have to see him again. Barry struck out 11 batters on his way to a no-hitter in a five-inning 11-0 win over the Tigers in Minden Tuesday.

And the Douglas County Public Library hosts toddler storytime at 10:30 a.m. today.

We didn’t get to near the number of stories we’d hoped to get to on Tuesday, so we’ll be playing catch-up this morning. Keep an eye out for updates.

That’s a full lid for now. Take care out there and have a great day.
