GARDNERVILLE, Nev., February 6, 2015 – The Record-Courier is reporting Douglas County Commissioners appointed Minden resident Kathy Lewis to be the new County Clerk-Treasurer during their meeting Thursday evening. You can read their full story here.

In today’s weather, brought to you by the Fall In Love Festival Bridal Show, we are looking at a high wind warning continuing through 4 a.m. Saturday with winds around 30 mph and gusting as high as 50 mph. We have a 40 percent chance of rain today after 10 a.m. with partly sunny skies and a high of 64.

The National Weather Service is giving us 100 percent chance of rain tonight, with the low dropping only to 43. They’re saying we can expect a quarter- to a half-inch of precipitation tonight. Possibly.

Rain should continue through the weekend before the storm clears out on Tuesday.

In today’s calendar, the Northern Division I Regional Wrestling Championships kick off at Reno High School today. And the Douglas High School basketall teams take on Bishop Manogue at Manogue at 5:15 p.m. (girls) and 7 p.m. (boys). Sierra Lutheran basketball hosts Pyramid Lake at 6 p.m. (girls) and 7:30 p.m. (boys).
