Good Morning, Carson Valley: Nov. 17

by Joey Crandall,

GARDNERVILLE, Nev., November 17, 2014 —  We’ll be kicking off a busy week in full force this morning as the final round of voting for Carson Valley’s Signature Pizza begins and Scott Neuffer turns in his latest piece.

We’ll be following up on the (temporary) closure of Sharkey’s and what the next step will be at some point today. And we’ll have a profile piece coming in later this afternoon as well.

The Carson Valley Airporter Shuttle Service between the Valley and Reno Tahoe Airport opens today. We have more information on that at this link.

The fall sports season came to an abrupt end Friday night with the Douglas girls soccer team, volleyball team and football team all falling within about two hours of each other in their various playoff contests. Within 12 hours, the Douglas boys basketball program was conducting tryouts for its season, and the Douglas girls program will open tryouts today. It’s the cycle of high school sports. We’ll be getting season schedules up hopefully today or tomorrow.

DesigningWithNatureDraft2In today’s weather, presented by Designing With Nature Landscaping, we’re only looking at a high of 46, while the chilly temperatures this morning are ranged down to 18 degrees. Tonight’s low could get down to 18 as well. We could see rain showers starting Wednesday and continuing on into the weekend, but right now those chances are rather slight.

Look to Designing With Nature this Holiday Season to install all of your exterior Christmas decorations. They also handle commercial and residential snow removal. Call 775-782-4999 for more information.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day!
