Good Morning, Carson Valley: Nov. 14

by Joey Crandall,

Tonight is the big night as three Douglas High athletic teams play in tough playoff matchups.

The action gets started at 6 p.m. down in Henderson with the Douglas girls soccer team taking on two-time defending state champ Arbor View in the state semifinals.

Douglas football takes the field an hour later at Reed High School in the regional quarterfinals. The Tigers will be looking to turn a bit of recent history on its ear as they’ve seen their last four seasons end with playoff losses to Reed on the Raiders’ field. Reed has also ended Douglas’ season in six of the past seven seasons.

And Douglas volleyball takes the court at 8 p.m. at Galena High School in the state semifinals against Shadow Ridge.

We’ll be following the action on all three contests and providing what updates we can.

The Douglas County Public Library hosts its Fall Book Sale this weekend starting at 3 p.m. today and continuing through Sunday. You can read more about that here.

In today’s weather, brought to you by Designing With Nature Landscaping, look for a high of 56 degrees with mostly sunny skies and an afternoon west wind at about 10 mph. It’ll be more of the same Saturday during the day, but we could see some more rain showers Saturday night. That’s only about a 20 percent right now, though, so take from it what you will.

We have a couple projects to bring you this morning. We’ll see how they pan out.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
