GARDNERVILLE, Nev., Nov. 6, 2014 — We’re looking at a busy day across the board today, starting right off the bat.
Gardnerville Elementary School hosts its annual Veteran’s Day assembly today at 9 a.m., inviting all active military members and veterans to a welcome reception beginning at 8:45 a.m., followed immediately by the assembly.
We’re debuting a new feature this morning that has been in the works for a few months. Scott Neuffer, who already pumps out tremendous feature stories for us in a freelance capacity, joins the CVT as a monthly columnist. His column, “Cornered,” will post in about an hour.
In today’s calendar, brought to you by k2 Pilates, the Douglas County Genealogy Group meeting at 1 p.m. at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church. Participants are encouraged to bring their military related stories.
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners meets at 1 p.m. today at the old courthouse. You can view their full agenda here.
The Douglas girls soccer team takes on Spanish Springs in the regional semifinals at Carson High School at 5 p.m. tonight. The Douglas volleyball team takes on Manogue 15 minutes later, also in the regional semifinals, at North Valleys High School.
And the Douglas High Music Boosters meet at 6 p.m. in the music room at Douglas High tonight. Anyone is welcome to attend.
