Volleyball: Douglas Upends McQueen In First Round Of Playoffs

RENO, Nevada, Nov. 4 2014 — The Douglas High School volleyball team went out on the road and scored a five-game victory over McQueen in the first round of the Northern Division I Regional Playoffs Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers found themselves down 2 games to none and facing a quick sweep. They responded strongly, though, rallying for 25-23, 25-18, 15-9 wins over the final three games.

Ariah Barth had 13 kills and Carmen Shaw and Taryn Allmett each had 11 kills. Isabelle Peterson added another seven kills. Shaw had three of Douglas’ eight service aces, Peterson had five blocks while Talyn Jackson and Aubrey Caires each had four blocks.

Raychel Allen came up with 16 digs, complimented by Shaw’s 10 digs and Jackson had 31 assists to go with six digs of her own.

 

Douglas will face Bishop Manogue Thursday night at 5:15 p.m. at North Valleys High School.
