Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Information On Dog Shooting

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — On October 28, 2014 at 5:00 pm, The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1900 Block of Palomino Lane in reference to a dog being shot.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies were advised that the dog owner, Kellie Mehoves noticed her dog laying in her living room with a injury to the dog’s leg. Mehoves transported the dog to the veterinary hospital, where hospital staff found evidence that the dog had been shot with a pellet gun and had suffered an injury requiring surgery.

Thus far the person responsible for shooting the dog has not been identified. The investigation continues.
