Authorities are searching for a 23-year-old Minden man who on Tuesday battered a parole and probation officer in Carson City and fled the scene when officers attempted to arrest him for a parole violation (possession of a controlled substance).
On Wednesday, the Division of Parole and Probation received information that Schwoerer had returned to the Gardnerville area and took his mother’s vehicle without permission, a white Honda Civic, Nevada license 811LMV. Schwoerer also obtained a 9mm handgun when he took the vehicle.
According to a California Highway Patrol report Wednesday night, he is believed to be headed for Stockton, Calif., though he was last seen driving near Topaz Lake.
He has a criminal history of domestic battery, theft, robbery and battery by a prisoner.
Schwoerer absconded from supervision and is currently wanted for Probation Violation (F), resisting arrest and battery on an officer. Due to his violent background, drug abuse history and possession of a handgun, he is considered armed and dangerous. He should be treated with extreme caution.
Schwoerer is described as Caucasian with brown eyes and brown hair, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 160 pounds.
On April 28, 2014, Mr. Schwoerer was granted probation from a 2012 arrest. On October 14, 2014, Parole and Probation officers received information that the defendant had returned to use of controlled substances, and that he was living at his girlfriend’s residence in Carson City without the knowledge or permission of his supervising officer. On October 14, 2014, Division officers attempted to arrest Mr. Schwoerer at his girlfriend’s residence on West College Parkway, Carson City. Mr. Schwoerer resisted arrest, battered officers, and fled on foot from the pursing officers. A search of the area failed to locate the defendant.
On August 9, 2012, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of Robbery and Burglary. The victim reported that a friend of her boyfriend, Robert Schwoerer, approached their car and leaned into the vehicle while he made small talk about trying heroin for the first time. The defendant then grabbed $50.00 out of her hand and fled the area. Mr. Schwoerer was arrested at a later date at his mother’s residence in Gardnerville, NV.
