Morning News Roundup

We’ll be awaiting more details on the bones found near Spooner Summit Monday afternoon this morning, though it sounds like until an autopsy is completed in Washoe County, there’s not going to be a whole lot more to say.
KRNV Channel 4 in Reno reported Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini saying that it appeared the remains had been there for months, maybe even years.
We’ll update as we receive more information.
Monday night, former Minden resident and Carson Valley emergency room doctor Noah Kaufman successfully completed the qualifying round on NBC’s extreme obstacle course show “American Ninja Warrior.” He completed the course in 3 minutes, 26.3 seconds – with plenty of showboating along the way – to finish 19th. He’ll appear again on the Denver city finals in five weeks.
We’re looking at a high of 84 degrees today, with it getting pretty breezy this afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Fire Warning for most of tomorrow, with winds gusting up to 35 mph, but it’ll be dry out there today as well. Caution in this area at this time of year is always the best practice.
The Minden Farmers Market starts at 4 p.m. on Esmeralda Avenue tonight, as it will every Tuesday this summer.
That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
