Douglas County reported yesterday that the recruitment for County Manager produced 71 candidates. The most qualified candidates will be presented to the County Commission at the July 17 board meeting.

The internet was knocked out through parts of downtown Gardnerville for several hours Thursday when a dairy truck clipped a utility pole behind the Stratton Center. Service, according to The Record-Courier. was restored around 12:30 p.m.

The GE Family Concert Series continues tonight withSavannah Blue plays a free concert at Minden Town Park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Fire Warning for this afternoon from 2 to 9 p.m. as temperatures will extend upward toward the high 80s and low 90s and wind gusts could reach 30 mph around the Valley. Temperatures will stick around in the high 80s through the next week.
