Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrests two in theft of Mercedes Benz

Two held in vehicle theft

Minden, Nevada – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has two people in custody for theft of a motor vehicle, eluding police officers, possession of stolen property and DUI.

On June 17, 2014 at 2:45am, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a 2012 Mercedes Benz for no license plates. As the deputy approached the vehicle, the vehicle sped away from the deputy. The Deputy, witnessed the vehicle turn onto Buckeye Road as other deputies began to arriving in the area to assist. Deputies located the vehicle abandoned along Buckeye and Lombardy Road.

A Sheriff’s Department K-9 was deployed and tracked the suspects who had fled from the scene. Subsequent investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from a car lot in Alameda County, Ca. Also, recovered from the scene were several credit cards and identifications from other victims of burglaries from Sparks, NV.

The driver of the vehicle, 22 year old Mariah Marie Beltran-Oribello was booked into the jail and her bail is set at $37,740. The passenger of the vehicle, 30 year old Nesar Ahmad Azimi was booked into the jail and he is currently held without bail due to a probation violation charge in addition to charges that stemmed from the incident.
