Good Morning, Carson Valley: June 12

Morning News Roundup

by Joey Crandall,

The Carson Valley Days Carnival opens to the public tonight from 5 to 11 p.m. A schedule of this weekend’s Carson Valley Days events can be found here.

It is a 2-for-1 purchase tonight as Ironwood 8 Cinemas shows “21 Jump Street” (5 p.m.) and opens “22 Jump Street” (7 p.m.). Your ticket also gets you a pair of Red or Blue Sunglasses. The theater also opens “How to Train Your Dragon 2” at 8:00 (2D) and 8:10 (3D).

The Carson Valley Times will actually be going dark for the remainder of the day as my wife and I head up to Lake Tahoe  for our anniversary. The site of course will still be live, but there will not be any updates for the remainder of the day. I apologize in advance if anything big happens between now and when I return.

There is a Red Flag Fire Warning in effect all day today with humidity dropping to between 5 and 15 percent and winds expected to reach as high as 45 mph in the Valley and 60 mph along mountain ridgelines.

Look for a high around 83 degrees.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
