The law firm of Houghton Jones, A.P.C., has expanded its office and services by relocating to Minden, and adding a new associate attorney, Michael G. Millward, Esq. Mr. Millward is a welcome addition to the firm, expanding its areas of practice to include Debtor’s Rights, Asset Protection, and Bankruptcy which compliments the firm’s existing practice in Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Asset Protection.
Mr. Millward has years of experience in debt negotiations, bankruptcy, and business litigation in both federal and state court. Mr. Millward received his Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2008, completing courses for a business law emphasis. In 2008, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable David R. Gamble of the Ninth Judicial District Court for the State of Nevada. He is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court and the Nevada and Idaho federal and state courts. He has served as the President of the Douglas County Bar Association. Michael lives in Carson Valley with his wife and college sweetheart, Marsha. He is active with his three young children, Boy Scouts, and church. Michael is proud of his Eagle Scout award and hopes his children will follow his lead.
Established in 2005 by Darcy K. Houghton, Esq., the firm expanded in 2011 when Cassandra G. Jones, Esq., took over as managing attorney. Ms. Jones is an experienced elder law and estate planning attorney, licensed in Nevada and California for over 10 years. She currently practices in the area of Estate Planning, Elder Law, Probate and Trust Administration, Guardianships, and Long-Term Care (i.e. Medicaid) planning. Ms. Jones is a native Nevadan. She serves the community through Austin’s House, SAFE, and through her church. She is married to her junior high sweet heart, Evan, and is embracing the challenge of raising her two young children.
Houghton Jones, A.P.C., serves our community by helping families preserve and build legacies. The firm has served clients in the greater Northern Nevada area for nearly nine years by assisting individuals and families build their businesses, protect their families, and preserve rich legacies for generations. The firm recently relocated to 1625 Highway 88, Suite 304, in Minden, Nevada – directly across the street from Douglas High School. Houghton Jones, A.P.C. hopes to better serve the community by being at the cross roads of Highway 395 and State Route 88, and by offering expanded areas of practice in bankruptcy, business, and debtor’s rights.
