18-year-old dies in snowboarding accident

Minden, Nevada – On Tuesday at 11:45 a.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Tahoe Douglas Paramedics responded to Heavenly Ski Resort, Boulder Lodge for an injured skier/snowboarder.

Upon arrival Tahoe Douglas Paramedics began advanced life support on 18-year-old Wyatt James Colvard from Fountain Valley, CA, however he succumbed to injuries suffered in a snowboarding accident.

Witnesses stated they found Wyatt lying in the snow unconscious and he was having a difficult time breathing. Ski patrol arrived and transported Wyatt down the hill to awaiting paramedics, where he succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy was completed and preliminary finding showed that Wyatt died due to internal injuries from blunt force trauma.

The investigation continues.
