WISE offering scholarship for women

Story courtesy of Women Inspiring Service and Education

Applications for a $500 scholarship are now being accepted by the Women Inspiring Service and Education (WISE) organization.

The scholarship will be used for fees and tuition for women students of either Western Nevada College or Truckee Meadows Community College. The deadline to submit an application is March 31, 2014; scholarships will be awarded on May 2, 2014. Applications are available online at http://www.nvwise.org/scholarship.

Applications are open to all local women in the Minden/Gardnerville area, from high school seniors who are getting ready to attend college for the first time, to existing WNC or TMCC college students, to women already in the workforce looking to complete continuing education and/or branch out in a new career path.

WISE is not only a networking organization for local business owners, but also a venue for women to grow personally as well as professionally. It is dedicated to serving our community and offering educational opportunities. This is accomplished through fundraising events for local charities and sponsoring rallies and speakers. This will be the fourth year WISE has awarded scholarships to local women.

  1. Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it
was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything.

Do you have any suggestions for newbie blog writers?
    I’d definitely appreciate it.
