The Douglas High girls tennis team dispatched Incline 17-1 Tuesday afternoon, giving up just one singles match in cruising to the win.
Douglas improved to 7-0 on the year with the win.
Freshman Madelyn Landerfelt and Courtney McKimmey each went 3-0 in the match and Ann Pomroy won twice.
The doubles teams of Kellie Hergenrader-Tara Cottrill and Kelly Sonnemann-Katelin Teigen each went 3-0. Maggie Rich-Kayleigh Carlson went 2-0 and Bryana McNamara and Ingrid Carlson went 1-0.
Incline brought only two players down and forfeited the match, 18-0.
“Incline brought their two players to Lampe Park to play three sets of singles with our players,” Douglas coach Rod Smith said. “We gave some of our doubles players a taste of the singles life.
“Senior Kyle Barnes came away with an impressive 7-5 win against a steady Incline opponent. Kyle’s serve and forehand groundstrokes were solid throughout the set.”
