Good Morning, Carson Valley!

by Joey Crandall,

It’s because I made fun of yesterday’s forecast that we ended up actually getting the rain showers last night.

Today, we’re looking at a high of 84 with clear skies. From there, we begin that decline into autumn, with temps gradually sliding down into the mid 70s next week, and overnight lows creeping toward the low 40s.

We have a batch of Thursday scores coming in, but the highlight yesterday afternoon was the Douglas girls tennis team pulling off an upset of perennial powerhouse Galena High School. More on that later in the morning.

The Douglas football team hosts Reed tonight in its home-opener.

Saturday morning, the Suicide Prevention Network of Douglas County will host its seventh annual Walk in Memory Walk for Hope, starting at the Carson Valley Historical Museum (1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville) at 9 a.m. (8 a.m. registration and 8 a.m. Breakfast for Hope). Information, or to register, call 775-783-1510.
