We had a question over the weekend about what to do about animals, namely pets, during extremely poor air quality such as what we have had over the past week and a half due to the Rim Fire outside of Yosemite, Calif.
I asked the folks over at Job’s Peak Veterinary Hospital and they said treat your pets the same as you would your kids in terms of interacting with the poor air outside. Keep them inside if at all possible, and if they are outside, don’t go throwing the Frisbee for them. “No exertion” is the key term in instances like these.
