The National Weather Service has a Red Flag fire warning in effect for today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the Western Sierra. We can thank low humidity and wind gusts of 30 mph for that.
It will, however, be our coolest day in quite a while, with a high of only 83 or 84 expected. The slow climb back into the 90s that we’ve been writing about all week has been lengthened even more, as temps are expected to top out at about 89 through at least next Wednesday. Welcome to August!
