A single tree in Stutler Canyon was reported on fire earlier this morning. According to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch, helicopters bucket-dropping it along with the Faye Fire on Jobs Peak. Just like the Faye Fire, we’ll keep an eye on it. It also seems to be burning slowly. This one is located slightly north of Jobs Peak. Chris Dickerson sent us a picture of the smoke rising from the area.
Update 2 p.m. from Douglas County: “The Stutler fire (North of the Faye-Luther fire yesterday) is starting to put up a lot of smoke. We are working on it now and will be getting more resources up to it as the day progresses. Thank you for all your calls and concerns and we will keep you posted should conditions change.”
