CVI entertainment schedule through Aug.10

The Carson Valley Inn features free live entertainment in the Cabaret Lounge on Sunday through Wednesday from 6 to 10 p.m., Thursday from 7 to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. As a courtesy to the Inn’s many sports fans, live entertainment is delayed as appropriate for certain major sports events so they may be viewed to their conclusion on the HD pull-down screen.

Brian Andrews, July 8 – 10:  One of Northern Nevada’s top Elvis Impersonators, Brian Andrews presents his “King and Friends” show featuring Elvis and the people he performed with. Brian’s history of the King also includes impersonations of many of his friends in the entertainment field such as Dean Martin, Bill Haley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Nat King Cole, Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, Richie Valens, Ricky Nelson, The Everley Brothers and Chuck Berry.

After Dark, July 11 – 13: Playing your favorites from the 60’s through today with lots of 70’s hits, this high-energy rock ‘n’ roll band will get you out of your seat and on your feet! After Dark’s band members have a collective 125 years of performance experience and the group has a continually growing song catalog and a fun-loving following.

Paul Covarelli, July 14 – 17: Veteran musician Paul Covarelli is a talented guitarist and vocalist. He started the group Jo Mama over 20 years ago and also plays with other groups in the area covering jazz, swing, blues, Latin and more styles.

Jo Mama, July 18 – 20:  Jo Mama conveys the same high energy whether they are playing funk, Latin, blues, swing, rock, country or calypso.  Jo Mama features Paul Covarelli on guitar and vocals, drummer Jeff Bond lays down the back beat and Nancy Barker rounds it out on keyboards and vocals.

Dale Poune, July 21 – 24:  Dale plays guitar, dobro, mandolin and bass. An accomplished vocalist with a variety of musical styles, he has performed with the Fortunes, Buddy Miles, The Coasters and The Drifters – and is currently working with Lacy J. Dalton.

Stew Stewart, July 25 – 27:  A Stew Stewart show has something for everyone including country music, blues, oldies, comedy, classic rock, Motown and just plain ol’ spontaneous fun!  A Nevada entertainer for over four decades, Stew has appeared at over 100 state and county fairs, many as the opening act for artists such as Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Marie Osmond, Herman’s Hermits, The Drifters, The Coasters, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, The Oak Ridge Boys and more!  Stew’s band is a show in itself and they will be joined by Stew for his performances at 8 and 10 p.m.

Lisa-Marie Johnston, July 28 – 31: Lisa-Marie Johnston is an accomplished singer/song-writer from the San Francisco Bay Area. Lisa-Marie’s style of music is affectionately referred to as Stomp and Groove. Her sound is acoustically driven with some Country/Rock/Reggae vibes.

 Chili Sauce, August 1 – 3:  Chili Sauce is a tasty new flavor of musical entertainment.  While favoring the R&B dance music of the 70’s and 80’s, the group also performs early classic Soul and rock ‘n’ roll with influences from groups ranging from the Beatles and Van Halen to Stevie Wonder and Prince.  Sit back and enjoy or stand up and dance as this lively quartet cooks up a spicy groove with a little “Chili Sauce.”

George Pickard, August 4 – 7: George is an accomplished performer, believable impressionist, captivating entertainer and successful song writer. He co-wrote “What Did You Do with Your Old Forty Fives” for Bobby Vinton and backed up many acts from the fifties and sixties including The Shirelles, The Diamonds and The Platters. He was also one of the Kingsmen (Louie, Louie) for a while. George has played the Fillmore in San Francisco with acts such as Santana, Big Brother and the Holding Company and Jefferson Airplane.

Hot Rods, August 8 – 10: The Hot Rods is a high energy oldies show band from the San Francisco Bay Area playing classic hits from the 50’s and 60’s, all the fun songs you remember!  From Elvis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino to the Beach Boys, Beatles, Stones, and Motown, they bring energy and excitement of the greatest era of rock ‘n’ roll!  The Hot Rods Band features Scott Porter, guitar & vocals, Dave Somers, saxophone & vocals, Dave Shuman, bass & vocals, Walter Alexander, keyboards, Seth Affoumado, drums & vocals.
